Andean Powder All-Mountain Discovery Camp: Itinerary Sample 8 Day
Andean Custom Tour Adventure
FIRST DAY:
Arriving to Concepcion Airport. Checking in at Termas de Chillan Ski Resort.
Your Andean Powder adventure begins at Concepcion Airport. Here, a transfer will be waiting for you to take you to Termas de Chillan . You will be taken through fertile valleys into the southern part of the Central Andes to the small village of Las Trancas, and into Termas de Chillan Ski Resort. Once there, you will check in at Pirigallo Hotel and enjoy a perfect evening getting to know your Instructor, getting your gear ready, and resting at your room after a long flight. Lodging at Pirigallo Hotel includes breakfast, dinner, lifts tickets for Termas de Chillan ski area, outdoor heated pool, game room, fitness center, and a disco-bar.
SECOND DAY:
Mountain Orientation & Safety Meeting. Free-boarding and Riding Evaluation.
Today we wake up early to enjoy a fabulous breakfast and assist to our Mountain Orientation & Safety Meeting. In this meeting we will briefly talk about the ski area\'s boundaries, your responsibility code, and other safety concerns. Therefore, you will have a better idea about the dynamics in a Chilean ski area. After the meeting, Your Instructor will take you in a small tour around the ski area. And around noon, we will have lunch. Then, you will have time to freeride along your instructor and talk about your riding goals and interests. Considering these and your level of riding skills, your Instructor will make a plan of action in witch you will work through the week. At the end the day, you will enjoy a great dinner at Pirigallo Hotel.
THIRD DAY:
The American Riding Model. Fundamental Movement and Performance Concepts
Today we will begin clinics at 9 am to introduce Movement and Performance Concepts. Your Instructor will take you to the best spots of the day to apply and experiment this concepts while your riding the slopes. Consider the Newtonian fact: Every action causes a reaction. We will learn what movements riders can do to affect the performance on their boards. Think about Rotation vs. Flexion & Extension Movements. Think about Edge Angle (tilt), Torsional Flex (twist), Rotation (pivot), Pressure Distribution. With the right conditions, your Instructor will take you to some secret spots to put everything together in an epic run at the end of the day. After the lift closed at 5 pm, All-Mountain Discovery Camp will conclude by relaxing yourself soaking in the outdoor hot-spring pool, hanging at your hotel room, enjoying the resort, or just remembering the great runs you made that day.
FOURTH DAY:
Movement Analysis.
This is your fourth day in the Chilean Andes. We will be doing a little filming to analyze the body movements we use while we ride. Turn Shape, Riding Styles, and Powder Riding will be the main focus of the clinic today. We will be keeping it fun by riding hard and exploring some of the backcountry if conditions permitting. Also, we will be introducing some backcountry skills and basic use of avalanche rescue gear. At night, we will be checking out the videos taken during the day and enjoy the resort facilities after a traditional Chilean dinner.
FIFTH DAY:
Carving, Dynamic Turns, Switch Riding, Powder Riding.
Today will be focus exclusively on learning and developing the necessary skills to ride under any mountain conditions. We will be discussing snow conditions, snow quality, groomers snow, and fresh powder. Your instructor will take you in a number of runs from tree runs to steep powder. Therefore, you will be experimenting the different conditions the mountain can offer and learning the factors witch can influence those conditions. At the same time, you will be learning the way to apply the right movements for the right conditions. At night, you will sleep, resting and dreaming of powder snow.
SIXTH, AND SEVENTH DAY:
Taking your riding to the next level by exploring the endless possibilities of the Nevados de Chillan Mountain Chain in the South Central Andes
Wake up early so that your Andean All-Discovery Camp continues refining your riding skills by exploring one of the most amazing ski terrains in South America. Named by friendly outside sources as the Powder Capital of South America, Termas de Chillan is a truly backcountry dreamland consisting of endless hills, valleys, and stunning mountain formations formed by ancient Andean Volcanoes. Situated strategically in front of the Pacific Ocean, Termas de Chillan receives regular snow falls followed by blue sky mornings. During these two days, we will explore this fantastic terrain in the middle of the South Central Andes. If circumstances allow, Your Instructor will take you to incredible backcountry spots such as Roca del Elefante, Corniza Pirigallo, and Tres Marias, which is the longest run in South America. In Termas de Chillan, expect to ride open runs, wide mellow bowls, native tree lines, and tons of amazing untouched Andean powder!
EIGHT DAY:
Sightseeing and drive back to Conception.
We will check out from Pirigallo hotel around 11am, and then take the transfer to Conception . On the way to the airport, you will have time to review some of the pictures of the trip, and request copies for you and your friends. Also, we will be sightseeing the beautiful valley of Chillan all the way to the Concepcion. Your transfer will arrive to the airport in the afternoon according to your convenience. There, we will thank you and say: Adios Amigos!!!!!
